Aktion G13

Ungdomshuset (literally “the Youth House”) was the attributed name of a building located in Copenhagen on Jagtvej 69, Nørrebro, which functioned as an underground scene venue for music and rendezvous point for varying anarchist and leftist groups from 1982 until 2007. Due to the ongoing conflict between the municipal government of Copenhagen and the activists occupying the premises, the building has been the subject of intense media attention and public debate since the mid-1990s.
Police started to clear the building early on Thursday, 1 March 2007. Demolition began on 5 March 2007 and was completed two days later.
Ever since the eviction, former users and supporters have demonstrated every Thursday from nearby square ‘Blågårds Plads’, to various places in Copenhagen.
For the 6 October 2007 Danish activists announced the public squatting of the new Ungdomshuset in Copenhagen. They also announced exactly which house it will be.

Action Grøndalsvænge Allé 13 (AktionG13) is the initiative borned to get a new youth house in Copenhagen. Since the Police and politicians in loving harmony evicted their house on Jagtvej 69 on March 1st, this year, Copenhagen has been the centre rebellion in Northern Europe and the fight for free spaces for everyone.
The 8th of October at least 10.000 people gathered in the city to take back a free space that the major refused to give them: “with AktionG13, we will take to the streets together and create a mass action that will be a disobedient and non-violent confrontation. We want to confront, challenge, cheat and be creative, not let conventional ideas put up limits for our achievements. We are completely incalculable and unpredictable. We will always have a Plan B ready. The Copenhagen city council owes us a youth house. If they don’t give it to us, we will have to take it ourselves.”
