Astronave Torino

At MIAAO - Museo Internazionale delle Arti Applicate Oggi - has inaugurated the 6th of October the exhibitionAstronave Torino-Turin Spaceship Company that marks the take-off to AFTERVILLE, a curatorial project dedicated to the conceptual and figurative intereference between the theory of the project and the last century’s science-fiction imaginary, created by Undesign, Michele bortolami and Tommaso Delmastro, with Fabrizio Accatino and Massimo Teghille.

The exhibition Astronave Torino describes, following a project by Enzo Biffi Gentili, Luisa Perlo and Undesign, a partcular development of the city of the future or of the post-city, trough the reconstruction of part of removed research project in architecture, design, cartoons, painting, metropolitan craftship, all of this connected to the cultural “hidden” history of Turin.

There are 4 stops of a trip of a Turin City Ship between the ‘60 and the beginning of the XXI century:
- drawings of nuclear architecture and spacial urbanistic by Enzo Venturelli, Alessandro Antonelli, Carlo Mollino, Toni Cordero and Leonardo Mosso.
- an astral iconography inspired by “Planète” of Louis Pauwels and the paintings of Jean Triffez
- spacial creatures made by Mutoid Waste Company
- many works between science fiction and grotesque of Marco Patrito, Tullio Rolandi, Michele Guaschino, Giulia Caira, Vittorio Pavesio, Bruno Petronzi, Alessandro Scali e Robin Goode.
