BEYOND HERBICIDES AND PESTICIDES
As a follow up to its successful campaign with other community and school groups to place a temporary ban pesticide and herbicide use in the Iowa City Community School District, Ecopolis is sponsoring a special forum on Nov. 30: Reducing Pesticide Use, Community and School Models That Work. Dr. Kamyar Enshayan will present a program on steps communities may take to reduce overall and specific exposure to pesticides and herbicides. Dr. Enshayan directs the University of Norther Iowa, Center for Energy and Environmental Education (CEEE). This Center helps children, youth, and adults make sense of complex environmental and energy-related issues while finding ways for the community to participate in positive, solution-oriented responses.
