Global Peace Index

The Global Peace Index is an attempt to measure the relative position of nations’ and regions’ peacefulness. It is maintained by the Economist, an international panel of peace experts from peace institutes and think tanks. It rates 121 countries from Algeria to Zimbabwe, looking at factors like levels of violence, organised crime and military expenditure.
Most of the European country rank in the top half of the league, while USA is 96th place and Russia even 118th.
