MapMixer: How to create a hybrid map
Design, interactive, interface
What is MapMixer?
The world is a big place. There are thousands of maps out there that provide unique details about any given destination. MapMixer is a new site that combines those maps with Yahoo! Maps to give you a better view of the world.
On the MapMixer page, you can upload a map in a variety of image formats, including popular types such as .jpeg or .gif.
Once a map is uploaded (you can upload a map in a variety of image formats, including popular types such as .jpeg or .gif.) you can meld it with any Yahoo map.
MapMixer places the uploaded map, rotates and scales it, calculating how to make the maps work together on different computers, then snaps the two together to create a hybrid map that can be saved for personal use in a My Maps account.
