Join Red Fern Farmer Tom Wahl and Versaland farmer Grant Schultz for a special discussion about paw paw trees, past efforts for orchards/gardens in Mosquito Flats, and the current state of the city-owned properties. Since the 2008 flood, the City of Iowa City has procured scores of properties in the area. Is it time to rename the area and turn those empty lots into orchards (such as paw paw trees) or biodiversity hotspots? Over a decade ago, agroforestry advocates championed paw paw fruit trees in Iowa.
