Popped PACKAGING

British Company Lush intros popcorn packaging to replace polystyrene chips and shredded paper to protect fragile items. A side effect of this is that transport emissions will be reduced, since popcorn is 60% lighter than paper and will be saved 4.6 million plastic bags each year.

As part of its drive to be greener, the Lush Shop Staff are protesting against wasteful packaging wearing nothing but (sometimes) their aprons. They are handing out leaflets urging shoppers to buy “bare” or unpackaged goods for the sake of the environment. The campaign is happening in 55 cities worldwide. Watch out!
