Here you can see a piece from the X-Scape project’s audiovisual DVD, available from June 2007 in a 500 copies limited edition.
Conceived by the italian electronic music composer and media artist Maurizio Martusciello aka Martux M and designed by visual artist Mattia Casalegno, the DVD is part of a broaden cross-media project comprising also an audiovisual performance and an interactive installation.
“On the crossing point between music concrète, glitchy and minimal electronica, the X-Scape’s sound reveals an imagery of abstract vectors and macro-recordered visual loops; the surgical sinesthesia emerging from the visual and sound processing of the X-Scape tracks seems to inquire the definitions of “audible” and “visible” in a way to expand such definitions well beyond the layer of the senses and the boundaries of language,in an attempt to “making visible invisible forces” (G.Deleuze, 1985).
As a performance X-Scape was premiered at the Mutek festival (CA) in 2005 and in 2006 at the IXem electronic arts festival in Venice (I).
The X-Scape AV DVD is produced by Persistencebit rec (I).
Kinotek will perform at the StreamFest the 28 of july in Sounds of complexity live media project.
